All committee positions assist with teaching and running events! There are 11 positions available.
Co-President (x2)
- Chair committee meetings
- Ensure all committee positions are filled and understand their responsibilities
- Representative for medical school/LUSUMA involvement
- Encourage cross-society events
- Point of contact for complaints/worries from committee or members
- Overseeing planning of events
Vice-President
- LUSUMA rep for funding requests
- Point of contact for email enquiries
- Point of contact for complaints/worries from committee or members
- Overseeing planning of events
Secretary
- Point of contact for email enquiries
- Maintain membership information
- Plan committee meetings
- Make room bookings
- Take and upload committee meeting minutes
Treasurer
- Keep accounts up to date
- Monitor budgets and liaise with events team
- Liaise with VP and LUSUMA regarding funding requests
- Submit expense reimbursements
Communications Officer
- Update and maintain website, emails, Facebook and Instagram
- Photography at events
- Distribute feedback and certificates to students/tutors
Education Officer
- Collate event specific educational material to distribute to members
- Recruit and brief volunteer teachers for events including lectures and scenario based teaching
- Produce training scenarios
Events Officer (x2 positions)
- Oversee the planning and delivery of events (both educational and social)
- Acquire/utilise event specific equipment
- Liaise with communication officer and treasurer regarding publicity and funding
- Submit event notification forms to the SU
Phase One Officer
- LWEMS rep for phase one
- Distribute emails to phase 1 students
- Assist events/education officers as required in planning/delivery of events
- A good stepping stone into the society for those in phase one looking to get involved in emergency medicine!
Wellbeing and Inclusion Officer
- Be knowledgeable of, and be able to signpost to, support services offered by the SU, UOL and the community
- Assist events/education officers as required in planning/delivery of events
